how does an applied force change the speed of an object​

A force applied on an object may change its speed. If the force applied on the object is in the direction of its motion, the speed of the object increases. If the force is applied in the direction opposite to the direction of motion, then it results in a decrease in the speed of the object.

  1. when we apply force on moving object in the same direction ,its speed increases.
  2. when we apply force on moving object in opposite direction,its speed decreases .
  3. when we apply equal force to the object,it stops.

so ,we can say that applied force can change the speed of an object ;it can stop that object, increase its speed ,decrease its speed
