eraser is made up of latex or rubber. and the lead of a pencil can be easily a kind of wiped out using an eraser. thats all because of latex

erasers are made of rubber or latex. The rubber molecules bind with the graphite particles on the paper physically, and it comes off with the graphite in the form of eraser dust. That's why very old pencil marks are very hard to erase as the graphite particles become very tightly bound to the surface of the paper.
