Duryodhana said that more than learning the antecedents of a Kshatriya to decide his lineage, it was enough that valour would be a Kshatriya's hall Mark. Karna with his god like form and bearing his skill with weapons all pointed towards him being a Kshatriya. He was not just worthy being the king of anga but also worthy to rule the whole world . Thus defended Karna against bhima's accusations
