the enzyme speed of the rate of reaction by lowering the activation energy of substrate. they form enzyme substrate Complex. the binding lowers the activation energy. enzyme brings down the Energy barrier between substrate and the product making the reaction easy and fast. lower the activation energy higher will be rate of reaction And Higher the activation energy lower will be rate of reaction.

enzymes can accelerate reaction by:-
i) stabilizing the transitional state
(substrate + enzyme complex ) of a reaction.
ii) providing an alternative reaction pathway for a biological reaction
