Fertilization in Cockroach-

  1. Internal fertilization occurs in cockroach.

  4. When soluble milky protein and dihydroxyphenol gets mixed it forms brownish scleroprotein.
  5. Ootheca is the common egg case formed by sclero protein. Generally ootheca is reddish to blackish brown capsule which is about of 8 mm in length
  6. Ootheca is then stored at dry place in the female.

Development System-

  1. 9-10 ootheca can be formed from one female.
  2. There will be 14-16 fertilized eggs in the each ootheca.
  3. Egg develops inside the ootheca.
  4. It takes generally 4-8 weeks in full development.
