he treats the dog with care and  love as he realizes that the dog is not suffering from any major illness, but is  greedy and over fed.he used to give all the dogs bowl filled with porridge and a lot of water to drink. Mrs Pumphry used to send Brandy and eggs for her beloved dog but all these things were enjoyed by the author himself. The dog used to sleep, chase the rats, and ate with the other dogs . For two days he keeps an eye on him, giving him no food but plenty of water. He then lets him out to play and eat with the other dogs.
