Cells do not transfer signals but nerve cell or neurons transfer signals between them.
Nerve cell contains Axon and dendron.
The signals are transmitted from one nerve cell to another in the form of synapse.
These signals reach the brain and then in turn return to all parts of body.
So nerve cell acts as a sensory system.
