sulfur can burn in oxygen to give u sulfur dioxide

highbee4love: When sulphur reacts with oxygen, it forms sulphur dioxide. Formed by the reaction of sulfur dioxide and oxygen in the presence of catalysts, sulfur trioxide fumes vigorously in contact with moist air and dissolves in water, liberating much heat and forming sulfuric acid.
