the length of the small intestine vary in size in different animals because it is a muscular tube with three parts duodenum ,jejunum and the ileum . The length of depends on the feeding habit of the animal . It is shorter in herbivores due to higher bulk of vegetal matter and slow digestion of cellulose and comparatively shorter in carnivores due to smaller bulk and easy digestion of meat . In humans it is 6 m and 2.5-3.5 cm in diameter.
