Pressure gets exerted by air which is called atmospheric pressure. We live on earth which is surrounded by a layer of air called atmosphere. This layer exerts pressure so much that we can get crushed but the liquids in our body exerts equal pressure so we don't get crushed.

To explain this better:

put some water in a glass and put a piece of cardboard on it. then put it upside down and see that the piece would stay on the opening of the glass. this is because the pressure exerted by the air makes the the cardboard stick to the glass
