after rhe pollen grain has fallen on stigma of a pistil, the pollen grain grows a pollen tube which reaches the ovary enter the ovul through ovul door.now, two male gamete reach the embryo sac, one male gamete combine with an egg to form embryo sac, and another gamete combines with two polar nuclie to form q tri-nuclie structure. this way rwo seperate combination of gamete takes place called double fertilization.

  1. Once pollen grain spreads on the stigma, it produces a thin tube called pollen tube.
  2. The pollen tube penetrates the style and reaches the ovary.
  3. It carries the male gamete.
  4. Finally, the male gamete fuses with the female gamete(egg) present there.

The cell produced by the fusion of gametes is called a zygote.

The process of fusion of male and female gametes is called fertilization.
