energy never gets wasted but it get transformed from one form to another . but when energy gets transferred from a form to another form such that the final form is harmful or not useful to us and we are not able to convert it into it previous form then we can say energy is wasted. for eg- coal gets burnt into gases containing water and carbon dioxide. in this chemical energy get converted into water energy and gas energy but we can't able to get back coal and also carbon dioxide is harmful to environment so we can say energy gets wasted.

hope it helps. please please please mark me as brainly and say thank you.
