how has nature balanced the herbivorous and carnivorous

herbivores die due to predation. some die of disease. those who die of disease feed the plants. carnivores control there numbers since disease alone will not be able to control them. carnivores however have a high food demand and a high metabolism and often die of starvation. their corpses feed the plants
