Answer:

Durga puja is the greatest festival of Bengali culture, celebrated during the Sharada Navratri or the Navratri of Autumn (Ashwin month of Indian calendar from the seventh lunar day to tenth lunar day of the waxing moon, in month of October).

The four days of Durga Puja are celebrated in the same way everywhere.

Firstly, in the morning, taking bath, everyone goes to temple and offers Anjali to the goddess. Fasting is done till the Anjali is over.

At noon, Bhog is offered to the goddess, which is then distributed among the devotees. (Bhog is the lunch prepared with rice and other curries)

At night, people generally go to see the idols made by others. And there are ‘dhunuchi’ dance and songs arranged in the Temple.

This is how the first three days go. On the last day known as Dashera or Vijaya Dashami after completing the morning duties (offering Anjali) Durga is given Viday Archana as many offer sindur and sweets to her and let her go back. And this is how the celebration ends.

You can celebrate it as the normal people do.

Thank you.
