The spectrum of a specific element is similar to a signature or a fingerprint, because -

• The spectrum of different elements are completely different from each other because the arrangement of electron energy levels are unique for every elements present in the modern periodic table.

• That's why, each of the elements have their own specific spectrum which we can use to identify the element.

• This specific spectrums are similar to the fingerprint or signature of us,due to specificity for each individual and can be used for identification also.
