the process of removal of salts from water is known as reverse osmosis. It uses a semipermeable membrane to remove large particles from water leaving water pure . Finally wate and water gets separated via membrane.

When salt dissolves in water, it separates into positive and negative charges. As the growth of population is increasing drastically, we are facing water challenges and to overcome them, scientists are designing new ways to purify saltwater.

Below mentioned are few ways to clean salt water:

- Filtration, a process which uses a filter membrane through which water sodium and chloride ions doesn't pass but water molecules does.

- We know that sodium and chloride are charged particles so with the help of electricity to steer these ions in opposite direction to water molecules.

These are many other methods can be used to purify water.
