Ain-e-Akbari is a very useful document for the historians as it provides an authentic record of the period when Akbar reigned. It not only gives them a detailed account of the imperial household, their servants, military and civil services but also throws light on the imperial administration and their regulations. They also come to know about Akbar's ancestry and biography along with his sayings. One of the volumes of this book deals with Hindu philosophy, customs, science and literature. Hence, the historians get to know a true picture of the era.

Ain-i-Akbari is a sixteenth century, detailed document which has records regarding Mughal Emperor Akbar's administration. It was authored by Abul Fazl, who was the court historian of Akbar.
