Common names can be misleading and so Binomial Nomenclature has been introduced in which there is a genus name and a species name.
For example: A fly.If we just mention a fly is present in a particular place but it might be possible that the common name fly might be different in different places, therefore it creates all the confusion.
Usage of scientific names is universal irrespective of the place and so avoids confusion. It becomes more specific and accurate in designating an individual.
