How is dacron obtained from ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid ?

Answer: Dacron or terylene (a polyester) is formed by thecondensation polymerization of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acidwith the elimination of water molecule. The reaction takes place at420-460 K temperature in presence of zinc acetate and antimonytrioxide as a catalyst.
