Ferric Hydroxide is prepared by a Substitution Reaction between Iron(III) and Water
Fe +H_{2}O ⇒ Fe(OH)_{3}+H_{2}

By shaking Ferric Hydroxide with Ferric Chloride, peptisation will occur in which the electrolytes are adsorbed by the precipitate particles by converting Ferric Hydroxide precipitate into colloidal solution.
