Folding related to continental crust where tectonic plates move beneath Earth which forces sedimentary rock to move upwards. During this process a series of folds are formed to make a folding mountains.
Tectonic plates collide with each other at convergent plate boundaries which create a compression in rock and ultimately it leads to the formation of mountain.
For example- Himalayas is a fold mountain and it is still active means forces are still beneath mountain due to this height of this mountain is changing.
