How is growth of shoot and root afected by direction of light?

The direction of growth of roots and shoots is affect by light as shoot bends towards direction of sunlight and roots away from sunlight due to accumulation of hormones in part of shoot away from sunlight .Due to this the part of stem accumulated with hormones grow faster than other region and hence bend towards sunlight.This hormones have reverse effect on roots due to which in region where hormones are accumulated grow slower and hence roots bend away from sunlight..

The name of that hormone is auxilin.
