In Palampur, there are a total of 450 families. In this 450 families, 150 families belong to lower castes such as the dalits and do not own many land. Sometimes, these people will not have any land, and, will become landless labourers. In the next 300 families, 240 are small farmers while the other 60 are large farmers. They own majority of the land , ie, 75 percentage , in Palampur.
