Nuclear energy means the energy released when a heavy nucleus of a radioactive atom such as uranium, splits up into smaller nuclei when bombarded with low energy neutrons, by nuclear fission.
A tremendous amount of energy is produced during this process, it is known as nuclear energy. This energy is converted into steam and passed through the shaft with rotates the turbine and induces electricity.
Hope it helps, Welcome.
