Venus has an atmosphere mostly composed of SO2, and Mars doesn't have one. We have an atmosphere made up of Nitrogen and Oxygen, mostly. Hence, they're different.
It acts as a 'blanket' by covering the Earth to protect it from harmful UV rays of the sun.

in our atmosphere, we have a balanced amount of oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and other gases. But in venus and Mars, the atmosphere has a high amount of carbon dioxide and other green house gases. In the earth's atmosphere we have a layer of ozone which acts as a blanket i. e. it protects the life on earth from the UV rays of the sun.
