The constitution of India originally had a two -tier system of government, that is, the central government and the state government. later, a three -tier system of government was included by an amendment in to constitution

moreover, the indian constitution has clearly listed out the power of the central and the state government, through he following three list :

1) Union list which includes subject of national importance like defence, banking, foreign, affairs, communication, currency etc these subjects are included in thisthis list because a uniform law and policy is necessary on these subjects. such laws can be made be the union government only. ..
