Subsistence Farming
- This type of farming is practised to meet the needs of farmer's family.
- Traditionally, low levels of Technology is used.
- Household labours are used to produced on small output.
Commercial Farming
- In commercial farming crops are grown and animals are reared for sale in market.
- The area cultivated and amount of capital used is large.
- Most of the work is done by machines.
There are 5 main thing that distinguish subsistence farming from commercial farming are the :
- Purpose
- Number of farmers in the workforce
- Use of machinery
- Farm size
- Relationship with other businesses
In my opinion subsistence farming is more useful for India.
