how is the arrangement of grey and white matter different in brain and spinal cord?

In the brain ( cerebrum and cerebellum) White matter is surrounded by grey matter (meaning white matter is towards the inside and get matter is towards the outside)

In the spinal cord - Grey matter is surrounded by white matter (grey matter is inside and white matter is towards the outside). This arrangement is also seen in pons and medulla oblongata.
