different from a no confidence motion

Answer.A censure motion is different from a no-confidence motion. Depending on the constitution of the body concerned, "no confidence" may lead to dismissal of the Council of Ministers or otherposition-holders, whereas "censure" is meant to show disapproval and doesnot result in the resignation of ministers.

Censure Motion

A censure motion can be moved in the parliament or in a state assembly in India. It is moved by opposition against a specific policy of government or against a minister or against the whole council of ministers. If passed no need to resign.

No Confidence Motion

A Motion expressing want of confidence in the Council of Ministers is called No Confidence Motion. it is moved by Opposition against entire Council of Minister and if passed Government have to resign.
