How is the electronic configuration of hydrogen suitable for its chemical reactions?

It's electron is 1 hence electronic configuration is 1 hence its in first of the periodic table in 1st group and in 1st period.
If it combines with some element and get 2 electrons hence it will obtain noble gas configuration and will be in the 6 group.
