HOW IS THE POET GUILTY OF VIOLATING THE RULE OF HOSPITALITY ???

As per to poet's natural human instincts he thought that the snake wwas a guest who came to seek his hospitality  from the depth of the earth.But he threw a wooden log to kill the snake who had come to seek his hospitality. Therefore poet is guilty of violating the rule of hospitality.
