Answer :

Given -

  • Distance = 200 km
  • Speed = 60 km/hr

To Find -

  • Time ?

Solution -

We know that, Speed = Distance/Time.

⇒ 60 = 200/Time

⇒ Time*60 = 200

⇒ Time = 200/60

⇒ Time = 100/30

⇒ Time = 3.33 hr.

Hence, Time taken by the train will be : 3.33 hr.

Additional Information -

  • Distance is the total length of the path travelled by a body.
  • It is a scalar quantity.
  • Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and the final position of the body.
  • It is a vector quantity.
  • Speed is a scalar quantity and velocity is a vector quantity.
  • Speed is the total distance travelled per unit time where is velocity is displacement per unit time.
