how many electrons get excited in sulphur to form Sulphur dioxide??

No of electrons in outer shell of sulphur is 6. SO2 has 2 double bonds to oxygen. Moreover There is one 1 lone pair on Sulphur and 2 lone pairs on each of the oxygen present on either side of sulphur.
