how many envelopes can be made out of a sheet of paper 3 m 24 cm by 1 m 72 cm,if each envelope requires a piece of paper of size 18 cm by 12 cm?​

length of the paper = 324cm

breadth. = 172cm

area of the rectangle = l x b

apply the values in the formula and find area

the find the area of the envelope

l is 18cm and b is 12cm

area of the envelope = 18 x 12

then divide the area of the sheet of paper by area of the envelope

u will get the answer

or

length of the sheet of paper=3m 24cm(324 cm)

breadth of the sheet of paper=1m 72 cm(172 cm)

area of sheet of paper=l×b

                                  =324cm×172cm²

Area of the piece of paper required for an envelope=18×12cm²

No. of envelopes=324      172=258 envelopes
