A prime number has only two factors.
- Any prime has only two factors. Out of which one is the number itself, and another is the number one (1).
- For example, consider 5, which is a prime number. So, 5 has only two factors, which are 5 and 1 respectively.
- A few of the prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and 23.
- The numbers other than prime numbers, which have more than two factors are called composite numbers. For example, 6 is a composite number, which has 4 factors viz. 1, 2, 3, and 6.
