How many five digit numbers are there having first digit 9?

The number of 5 digit numbers = 99999 - 10000 +1 = 9000. First place excluding zero 9 elligible digits and each of the other 4 digits 10. Numbers excluding 5 : In the 1st place in left , we can have any digit other than 0 and 5 = 8 digits are elligible.
