Human have teeth which are of different shape and size. There are four different type of teeth based upon the "size and shape".

They are "Incisor", "Canine", "Premolar", and "Molar". In each jaw of human being, the teeth present are Incisors - 4, Canine - 2, Premolar - 4, and Molar - 6. When all the numbers are counted together (4+2+4+6), we get 16.

Hence, each jaw of human being has 16 permanent teeth. Both the jaw has 32 teeth.
