area of each window pane= l X b = 25 x 16 = 400 cm sq..
area of 12 window panes = 400 x 12 = 4800 cm sq.
which is equal to 0.48 m sq. thus , 0.48 m sq. glass will be required for the    window.

Answer:

0.48 sq.m.

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of pane = 25 cm

Width of pane = 16 cm

Area of pane = Length \times width

                      = 25 \times 16

                      = 400 cm^2

So, area of 1 pane = 400 sq.cm.

Area of 12 panes = 400 \times 12

                            = 4800 cm^2

1cm^2=0.0001m^2

4800 cm^2=0.0001 \times 4800 m^2

4800 cm^2=0.48 m^2

Hence 0.48 sq.m.  of glass will be required for a window, which has 12 panes, each measuring 25 cm by 16 cm .
