Monsoon is consideredas a unifying bond because of the following points: 

1. Indian farmers largely depend on the monsoons for irrigation of crops. 
The monsoon type of climate in the Indian sub-continent is unique in itself. 
It characterises Indian climate.
2. The monsoon decides the fate of agriculture in Indian economy and also seventy percent work force that depends on it. 
3.The monsoon also has socio-cultural impact in India where many festivals revolve around the reaping and harvesting of crops.
