How oxidation and reduction proceed side by side?

as we know , oxidation is the gain of oxygen molecules and reduction is the loss of oxygen molecules so, whenever there is gain of oxygen, on the other side there is lose of oxygen .hence, oxidation and reduction occur simultaneously.

oxidation means loss of electrons and reduction means gain of electrons so when the compounds are reacted the redox reaction take place...
