In complex multicellular animals like human beings ,there are special reproductive organs to make sperms and eggs.
testes are the primary reproductive organs in man/males. the function of testes is to make the male sex cells or male gametes called sperms from puberty onwards through
out his life and also to make the male sex hormone called testosteron.the testes of a man lie in small muscular pouch called scrotum outside the abdominal cavity .being outside the abdominal cavity the temperature of scrotum is abt 30degree lower thn the temperature inside the boxy because sperm formation requires a lower temperature than the normal body temperature.in this way the testes provide an optimal temperature for the formation of sperms.

Sperms are formed by meiotic cell division in male reproductive system at the time of birth of a male in human and are stored in testes. The eggs are also formed in female reproductive system by meiosis. By meiosis the number of chromosomes are halved(becomes 'n'), so when the egg and sperm join to form zygote, the number of chromosomes get equal to a somatic cell i.e., 2n.
