Let me give you a step by step guide to various methods to change the width of a column in a table:

• Hover your cursor and bring it to rest on the right side of the column boundary which you want to move and wait until it shows a resize cursor icon

• Drag your cursor on the boundary until the column is of your required width

• If you wish to resize the column width on a specified measurement, click a cell in the column that you want to resize

• Press the Layout tab and under the sub-group of Cell Size, click on the Table Column Width box, and then specify the measurements you want.

• Last but not the least: to make the columns in a table automatically resize according to the width of your content, click on your table first

• Click the Layout tab. Under the Cell Size group, click AutoFit, and then click AutoFit Contents.
