On the roof I heard a sound,
Those were the drops hitting the ground,
The gentle pitter patter continued their round,
Like hail of bullets inside a battleground.

It came on the window pane knocking its way,
Asked me to open up and start to play,
Droplets alighted and it pulled me away,
Soon turned into a wet retreat, of a breeze wave.

Facing upwards, towards the gloomy clouds,
I looked at the sinking sun in the misty shroud,
Drops turned sharper through the grey clouds,
Chilling wind cutting through the heart, I now avow.

Sheets of water kept pouring out from the skies,
Earth for a moment looked like a heavenly disguise,
Grey layer kissing mountains, I did fantasized
It actually happened below the horizon, I was mesmerized.

Wet and numb, coldness seeped into the spine,
It was time, for the rain and me, to un-twine,
Rain continued playing a peculiar rhyme,
The only thing missing was a glass of wine.

Howling wind whispered in thee ear,
As I looked through the window unclear,
‘I am frigid, and I will disappear,
But the smile on you is precious, promise me, you’ll always wear.’

Grabbing in the fist, I took a spoonful of it,
Spreading across the face, I whispered, thanks for bring it to me,
Then a thunder struck lighting up the grey,
I was shook, but the wind tucked me in a nice way.

I then saw the flowers and the trees,
They were springing nicely in the breeze,
Rain creates magic I do believe,
Graphite sky, and cold water just doesn’t wet the field…

I looked out the window. The sky was tar-black and the large clouds were moving towards me. I heard a tapping on the window and then it became a pitter-patter. People ran for cover outside and umbrellas were opened as the clouds spat out their beads of water. Puddles began plinking as the rainfall became heavier. The roofs of the cars danced with spray and I could hear the murmuring of the rain through the window. It sounded like the buzzing of angry bees.
