transitive verb is a type of verb which required another word for their complete meaning.
to identify transitive verb you put what in front of question if it answer then it is transitive other wise it is intransitive .
for example: Ram sleep .
if you put what in front of question ?
the statements will be
what RAM sleep ?
you didn't get any answer of such question ,so sleep is intransitive verb
next example : Ram eat
put what in front of question
what ram eat ?
you may get answer like ram eat mango ,ram eat apple etc
so here apple and mango is word which require to complete sense
so eat is transitive verb
I hope you understand
