We can find D_{i} in statistics in that way as follows,

  • The basic measure of deviations from the value(usually a mean or median value) is mean deviation which is indicated by the sign "D" or "d" or "D_{i}".
  • If x_{i} be the observation and "a" be the fixed value then, D_{i} be  x_{i} -a.
