how to find the direction of dipole moment?

Here is a small trick to find out..

1. Firstly, check the electro negativity of central atom whether it is high or low.
[Hint: This can be easily calculated by using the groups and periodic order
i) In groups, electron negativity goes on decreasing from top to bottom
ii) In periods, it is vice versa. Have a look at lone pairs too.]

2. If electron negativity is low, bond pair movement is opposite to central atom and vice versa.
