How to find the resultant of like parallel forces like?

It depends upon their magnitude and direction.

  1. If forces have same magnitude and direction they will be added and the resultant force will be twice of the one of the given forces.
  2. If forces have same magnitude but in different direction they will cancel out each other and resultant force will be zero(0).
  3. If the have different magnitude but same direction they will be added.
  4. If they have different magnitude but are in opposite direction they will be substracted.
