valency is nothing but combining capacity of an atom. you can find valency with the help of electronic configuration which is based on atomic number. Valency is the number of electrons present in outermost which the atom will either lose or gain.

hope it helps..

To find the valency of an element, it is absolute that we must know the atomic number of that element. the answer is 4. For elements with valence electrons >4, subtract it from number 8. For example Fluorine ⚛️ the Valency is 2,7 and the valence shell numner is 7.
