Learn the atomic and mass number of that element, and if its atom is neutral, number of protons and electrons of that is same as its atomic number, and that of neutron is the difference between mass and atomic numbers.
If the atom is charged, a.k.a. an ion, just subtract or add the number of electrons from it according to the charge it carries, rest all remain same.
