Explanation:
1.Completing the syllabus atleast two-three months in advance so that you have adequate time to go through the ten years’ question papers. Here I mention that solving the previous years’ question papers is very important, Though the level of difficulty would differ from year to year yet you can get a feel of the pattern, you can understand areas you need to work on a little more, and how prepared you are for the exam.. You can also practice answering within the time limit.
2.Studying daily even if it’s in small chunks.. - Keep reasonable targets and try sticking to a time table.
3.Create small notes that you can refer to before your examination.. These notes would help you revise before your examination day. Since we have always heard people saying that do not leave any chapter for the last day before your examination, do not cram anything the day before and they are right… But though I knew this , it made me feel a little less confident if I didn’t study anything the day before so I used to create very small notes on different topics that I used to go through.. That way I made sure I didn’t cram anything and just used those notes for revision.
4.You should also clarify doubts from your teachers whenever you face a problem while going through a chapter.
ADDITIONAL TIPS:
- Try not to go through new topics or solve new numericals before the examination.. It’s from my personal experience I speak that doing so can at times lower your level of confidence since if you are unable to solve one numerical or grasp a new concept, it would seem to you like you haven’t studied enough and maybe you wouldn’t score good enough.. So to avoid such thoughts from arising, try not to go through anything new atleast a week or two before the examination day.
- Try utilizing the first 15 minutes of your reading time well in choosing the questions you want to attempt. Since upon the choice of your questions, a lot of your marks can depend. :)
- Allocate time for each section and try finishing within the stipulated time.
- Write the correct question number so that you don’t lose marks due to these silly issues
- Write answers in your own words mentioning the key points so that you are not dependent on memorized answers.
- The day before your examination, sleep for atleast 7–8 hours and eat a light and healthy dinner.
I tried my best to recall all the practices I had followed before my ICSE exam.
With hard work and dedication everything is possible.. Don’t stress out, don’t feel demotivated.. Do not compare yourself with anyone else.. Keep on motivating yourself and keep on moving towards
